Things to Do in Miami

Hi friends! This past weekend I went to Miami for a short getaway with my fiance. It was perfect timing since it was cold and snowy in DC. If you know me, I do my best to go to Miami about 2-3 times a year. I kid you not, every time I go to Miami I fall in love with the city more and more. Yes, it's busy with traffic, filled with tourists and partygoers, and really humid, but since the moment I first went to Miami back in 2012 it cast a spell on me. Whenever I have options to go elsewhere, I always end up choosing Miami. You may be asking yourself, "Why do you love this city so much?" Well, it's the food (love the Cuban food), people, art (shout out to Wynwood), weather, palm trees, and good vibes. Every time I go I feel inspired as the city gives me hope that anything is possible in this world if you put your mind to it. Miami also reminds me that life is beautiful and colorful. Since I love this place so much, I decided to create a list of my top 5 things you must do when you visit Miami. Enjoy, I hope it motivates you to go visit!

Wynwood Art District

I highly recommend you visit Wynwood both during the day and night. In the day time you can enjoy the beautiful art work and see all the vibrant colors in the walls. So many talented artists from around the world come here to display their art work. During the years, more exhibits, cute stores, and restaurants have opened. Come with your favorite outfit so you can take pictures. During the night time, the bar scene starts and if you are lucky there may be a festival or a fair. Below are some pictures I've taken during time in Wynwood.

Beach Vibes

Obviously, a visit to the beach must be on your list. If you are looking for a more calm beach I would suggest North Miami Beach. It is also great for families. On the other hand, South Beach is more crowded and filled with tourists. What I love about the beaches in Miami are the lifeguard houses. They are each unique and most of them have bright colored lifeguard houses.

Little Havana

If you want a little taste of Cuba, head on over to Little Havana. You will find some really good Cuban restaurants such as Versailles. My favorite spot! It is busy but definitely worth the wait. The mojitos are so good! We always stop by Azucar for ice cream. There are many flavors to choose from. During the day time, there is the Domino Park which is filled with such sweet people playing domino. Lastly, if you are in the mood of going out and want to dance to spanish music, check out Ball and Chains. They have the cutest pineapple stage in the outdoor area. You can also go to Ball and Chains during the day time and enjoy a mojito.

Miami Design District

Want to do some shopping? Check out this up and coming area. It is a couple blocks away from Wynwood so you can make a day trip out of it. You will find Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Tom Ford, and many other stores. There are also a few restaurants if you would like to grab a bite.

Eat

I have BIG love for food. If you love food and cute restaurants with the best decor, Miami is your place. The best part is that there is a huge selection of food from all over the world. If you are feeling some Venezuelan, Columbian, Cuban, Peruvian, Japanese, American, Brazilian, etc, no worries you will find a restaurant. My fiance and I have our favorite spots which we go time and time. We also try at least two new restaurants each time we go to Miami. I have a long list of restaurants to recommend depending on what you want so I won't bore you with it. But if you need any recommendations, just comment below and I can help you out!

Hope you enjoyed my Miami post!

Besos,
