Hello there! Today I'm talking about matcha green tea. I do not remember exactly when my love for matcha began but it all started about 5 years ago or so when I walked into a Starbucks and ordered a green tea frappuccino. Life changer! Since then I have explored the matcha world more and more. You may be asking yourself what are the benefits and why am I seeing it everywhere just like pumpkin spice.

Wellllll, it has a lot of awesome benefits. Keep in mind that you want to make sure you get good quality matcha. That being said, good quality matcha will be pricey. The way to think about it, yes it'll cost ya but you are getting great benefits and you only use a little of it. Below are the top 2 reasons why matcha is good for you:

1. Gives you Energy
Skip the coffee (perhaps some days) and go for the matcha. Unlike coffee which gives you a nervousness feel, matcha gives you a calm energy feel. You can say good bye to coffee side effects but still get your caffeine.

2. Bye Bye Calories
If matcha can increase my metabolism and at the same time cause no negative side effects. Sign me up!

Below is a collection of my matcha pictures! I have to admit, I have tried a matcha donut at Sugar Shack and I was a little disappointed. I could hardly taste the matcha. Don't get me wrong Sugar Shack has delicious donuts. I now try to stick to matcha ice cream or drinks.

Right now, my favorite go-to spot for a nice warm matcha latte is : Baked and Wired in Georgetown, DC. When I don't want to go anywhere but the craving is real, I just make my own at home.
